Photography

Photography has always been a huge passion of mine and I've been lucky enough to travel to and photograph quite a few countries. My inspiration generally comes from landscapes with a focus on vivid color, stark contrast and light.

Colors of the Sky

	This is one of my favorite series: a collection of photographs taken in Long Island and a few other places around the world, focusing on sunsets and what are, to me, really beautiful and interesting cloud and light combinations.

The Emerald Isle

	Ireland is an absolutely beautiful country with some of the most fantastic fairy tale landscapes in the world, particularly the mountains, lakes and seacliffs.

The Island

	Every summer since I was a baby, I've gone with my family for a week or two to Orient Point, Long Island, a tiny coastal village way out on the eastern tip where the ferry runs to Connecticut. It's a beautiful, incredibly relaxing place and one of the reasons I originally got so into photography and started to experiment with skies and lighting.

Darklight

	Long exposure photographs of interiors, distorted lights and nightscapes. Not necessarily my strength in photography but definitely fun to try out now then.

The Bird's Eye

	Aerial photographs taken during airplane and helicopter rides at various places around the world (overheads of New York City, Berlin, India and various shots from up inside the clouds).

The Ashram

	Being half-Indian, it's always a treat to visit the "homeland" (partial homeland anyway) and see my family. These photos were taken during some recent trips to Gujarat and South India.

Natural Beauty

	Closeups of plants, water and other beautiful natural wonders.

Round-the-World

	Select photos from various trips to Scotland, Germany, England, France, Italy and my 2 month stay in Prague for a summer program during film school.

Animal Kingdom

	While I have yet to live out my dream of being an adventurous wildlife photographer, snapping epic shots of giant cats in their natural environment, I do like to photograph as many different types of animals as possible whenever I get a chance.

The Big Apple

	As a born and raised New Yorker (Manhattanite, to be specific), I rarely think to photograph my own city. But now and then I do find myself with reason to do just that.
